Company’s Request
The request was to create a gateway for IoT/M2M applications with several configurable WAN options, LoRaWAN network stack, specifically designed for outdoor applications. The gateway needed to be used both in places which don’t require additional connectivity features and places with challenging terrains where no ethernet or WiFi exists.

Technology Set
Operating System: Linux debian 8/ubuntu 16.04 LTS kernel 3.4.x
Processor: AllWinner SOC A20, ARM® Cortex™-A7 Dual-Core
Secutiry: IPSec, L2TP
Connectivity: Ethernet, Wi-Fi, LoRa, 4G/LTE (Option)
Solution
Sirin Software team developed both the hardware and software for a PoE powered gateway with built-in WiFi+BT4.0 module, 8 LoRa® channels, LoRaWAN™ 1.0 protocol support. The gateway is synchronized with world time; information about physical positioning; mini-PCIe, SATA, MicroSD, UART expansions.
- Cost-efficient solution. The gateway runs on embedded ARM-based single-board computers, making the devices low-cost and easy to use.
- Great connectivity. The gateway has a connection of up to 62,500 nodes. The device can receive 1.5 million packets per day.
- Long-range coverage. The gateway’s coverage ranges from 60 km in open areas and up to 5km in dense urban areas.
- Extra data safety. One of two protocols can be used – IPSec or L2TP.
- Easy setting with web administration environment.
